Frequently asked

How do I update Resonance?

Updates are delivered automatically through the Mac App Store — no manual download required. Open App Store → Updates if you want to check, or enable automatic updates in App Store → Settings.

macOS is asking for microphone permission. Why?

Resonance uses the microphone permission to read and set mute state and volume. It never records or transmits audio. See the Privacy Policy for details. You can revoke permission at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone.

My audio device isn’t showing up

  • Try unplugging and reconnecting the device.
  • Open System Settings → Sound and confirm macOS sees it.
  • If macOS sees it but Resonance does not, email support with the device make/model.

How do I uninstall?

  • Open Launchpad, click and hold the Resonance icon, then click the × that appears.
  • Optional: remove local preferences with defaults delete com.resonance.app in Terminal.

System requirements

  • macOS 14 Sonoma or later
